RB Rex Burkhead was allowed to sit out Saturday’s scrimmage, giving backups Aaron Green and Ameer Abdullah a chance to show how they’ve progressed since last fall. “I know what Rex brings to the table,” coach Bo Pelini said. “(Green and Abdullah) are good backs. I’ve been pleased with their progress.”
