Patriots' Harvey Langi: Healthy heading into training camp
Langi (knee) has been participating in offseason workouts after ending the 2021 campaign on injured reserve, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.
Langi appeared in seven games for the Patriots last season, playing mostly on special teams, before a knee injury landed him on injured reserve in October. He eventually returned to practice but was never activated to the 53-man roster. Now healthy, he'll look to carve out a role in New England's linebacking corps, which lost Dont'a Hightower, Jamie Collins and Kyle Van Noy this offseason.

Patriots' Harvey Langi: Signs one-year extension
Langi (knee) signed a one-year extension with the Patriots on Friday, Zack Cox of NESN reports.
Langi appeared in seven games for the Patriots this season, playing mostly on special teams, before a knee injury landed him on injured reserve in October. He eventually returned to practice but was never activated to the 53-man roster. He was set to become a free agent this offseason but will be back to compete for a roster spot next year. It's unclear what New England's linebacker corps will look like next season, as Dont'a Hightower, Ja'Whaun Bentley and Jamie Collins are all on expiring contracts.

Patriots' Harvey Langi: Won't return this season
Langi (knee) was not activated from injured reserve before his 21-day window expired, meaning he is out for the season, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Langi had been expected to return but team needs elsewhere on the roster apparently trumped that possibility. He'll finish his fourth NFL season having recorded three tackles (one solo) in seven games in a predominantly special-teams role.

Patriots' Harvey Langi: Activated from COVID-19 list
The Patriots activated Langi (undisclosed/knee) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports.
Langi had been on injured reserve since Oct. 26 but returned to practice in early December. He would have been activated from IR if he hadn't been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list last week, so he should be available for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

Langi got more run in 2020 than he ever had previously, logging 513 defensive snaps after combining for 108 between 2017 and 2019. The result was a career-high 60 tackles, but the Patriots welcomed back Dont'a Hightower from a COVID opt-out and also signed Kyle Van Noy and Matthew Judon as free agents this offseason, pushing Langi down the depth chart. However, after getting released Tuesday, Langi is back in New England to provide another body to the linebacker corps.

Coach Adam Gase said Monday that Langi is being evaluated for a neck injury, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.
Langi played every snap in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Rams. This injury may have flared up following the game, and Gase is uncertain if he'll be able to play in a Week 16 matchup against the Browns. The Jets' linebacker corps has been tested by the injury bug this year, and it would turn to either Noah Dawkins or Sharif Finch if Langi is forced to miss time.
