  • Broncos' Calvin Throckmorton: Mile high bound

Throckmorton signed a one-year contract with the Broncos on Monday. Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.

Throckmorton split time between the Panthers and Titans last season, seeing action in 15 games and starting seven while with Carolina. The 27-year-old will likely be a reserve option for Denver and has a history with coach Sean Payton, having started 14 games for the Saints in 2021.

  • Calvin Throckmorton: Let go by Carolina

Throckmorton was waived by the Panthers on Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

In a surprising move, Carolina has cut Throckmorton, who started the team's previous seven games at guard. The Oregon product spent the first two years of his career with New Orleans, starting in 20 of his 31 appearances. Chandler Zavala and Cade Mays seem to be the two most likely options to replace Throckmorton on the Panthers' offensive line.

Throckmorton (calf) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Throckmorton suffered a calf injury during Carolina's Week 6 loss to the Dolphins but is now healthy again. The 27-year-old could start at right guard once again if Austin Corbett (ACL), who was activated off the PUP list Tuesday, is unable to play against the Texans on Sunday.

Throckmorton suffered a calf injury during Carolina's 42-21 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Head coach Frank Reich announced after the game that Throckmorton had been added to the injury report with a calf injury. The 27-year-old will now have the team's upcoming bye to get healthy, but if he's not good to go Week 8 against the Texans, Cade Mays will start in his place.

Throckmorton (ribs) played in Sunday's preseason game against the Texans.

Throckmorton had missed time previously due to the injury, but he was able to take the field Sunday and play 22 snaps. The 27-year-old is working to keep the depth role that he's held for the last couple of seasons on New Orleans' offensive line.

  • Saints' Calvin Throckmorton: Practices with second team

Throckmorton (elbow) is back at practice and working with the second-team offensive line unit, John Hendricks of Sports Illustrated reports.

After going undrafted in 2021, Throckmorton has found a role as a depth offensive lineman in New Orleans. He was slowed down by an elbow injury early in camp but appears to have recovered from it. Barring any setbacks, he is on track to back up Andrus Peat in Week 1.
