Bills' Mike Edwards: Healthy for Week 8
Edwards (illness) is not listed on Wednesday's injury report.
Edwards missed Buffalo's win over the Titans in Week 7 due to an illness, but he's now healthy and available to contribute for Sunday's road matchup against Seattle. Of course, Edwards could also be a healthy scratch Week 8, as he has been on three occasions this season.

Bills' Mike Edwards: Inactive vs. Tennessee
Edwards (illness) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Edwards popped up on Buffalo's injury report as a DNP on Friday with an illness. The veteran safety wasn't able to shake it off over the weekend, and he will observe Sunday's game from the sidelines. Cole Bishop will be the primary backup at safety behind starters Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin.

Bills' Mike Edwards: Past hamstring issue
Edwards (hamstring) wasn't on the Bills' injury report Wednesday ahead of Sunday's Week 1 contest against the Cardinals.
Edwards has been nursing a hamstring injury since late July, but it now appears he's moved past the issue. With Edwards back at full health, he's expected to play a rotational role in Buffalo's secondary during his first year with the Bills.

Bills' Mike Edwards: Increases practice participation
Edwards (hamstring) participated in team drills during Thursday's practice session, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Edwards has been dealing with a hamstring injury since late July, which kept him out of practice until Wednesday, when he participated in individual drills. He signed a one-year deal with the Bills in March after playing for the Chiefs in 2023, during which he accumulated 51 tackles (32 solo), including 1.0 sacks, five pass deflections, one interception, two fumble recoveries and one touchdown across 17 regular-season games. If he can return to full health for the Bills' regular-season opener against the Cardinals on Sept. 8, Edwards has a chance to start at free safety due to injuries to Damar Hamlin (hamstring) and Cole Bishop (shoulder).

Bills' Mike Edwards: Returns to practice
Edwards (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday in a limited capacity, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Edwards, who's missed time over the past couple of months with shoulder and hamstring injuries, seems to be nearing a full return to the field after Wednesday's limited practice session. With both Damar Hamlin (hamstring) and Cole Bishop (shoulder) nursing injuries of their own, Edwards has a chance to start in Buffalo's secondary if he's back at full health by Week 1.

Bills' Mike Edwards: Nearing return to individual drills
Edwards (hamstring) is expected to participate in walkthroughs and individual drills at practice this week, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
Edwards hasn't practiced since late July due to a hamstring injury. The veteran safety signed with Buffalo in the offseason following four years with Tampa Bay and one season with Kansas City. If he recovers in time for Week 1 of the regular season, Edwards will likely work behind projected starters Taylor Rapp and Damar Hamlin (hamstring) at safety, though Hamlin is also currently dealing with a hamstring issue and may not be ready for the season-opening contest versus Arizona.

Bills' Mike Edwards: Will miss some time
Head coach Sean McDermott told reporters Monday that Edwards is viewed as week-to-week with a hamstring injury, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Buffalo News reports.
It's been a rocky start to Edwards' Buffalo tenure, as the 28-year-old missed some time earlier in the summer due to a shoulder issue, and he is now dealing with a hamstring injury that could sideline him for the foreseeable future. Edwards, who played his 2023 campaign with the Chiefs, has posted 133 total tackles and eight passes defended, including three interceptions, over the last two seasons. Once the Kentucky product returns to full health, he's expected to start alongside Taylor Rapp in the Bills' secondary.

Bills' Mike Edwards: Limited during minicamp
Edwards (shoulder) was a limited participant during practice Tuesday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.
Edwards missed OTAs in May with the injury, so his ability to participate at any level should be a sign of progress. Acquired in March on a one-year deal, the Kentucky product is expected to be the Bills' starter at free safety in 2024.

Bills' Mike Edwards: Misses Tuesday's session
Edwards sat out Tuesday's OTA session due to a shoulder issue, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports.
The Bills haven't indicated that Edwards' injury is anything serious, so he'll likely be back on the field by the time training camp opens in the summer. After signing a one-year deal in March, Edwards has a good chance of starting at free safety with Buffalo having thus far not made an effort to re-sign longtime secondary mainstay Micah Hyde, who is currently without a team and is a question mark to return to football due to long-time neck issues. Even if Hyde does return to the Bills, the younger and healthier Edwards may be the team's preferred starter anyway.
