  • Lions' Rock Ya-Sin: Reliable option for Detroit in 2025

Ya-Sin recorded 47 total tackles (27 solo) and nine passes defensed over 17 games during the 2025 regular season.

Ya-Sin was one of the few Lions defensive backs that was able to make it through the season unscathed, compiling a career-high nine passes defensed while playing all 17 regular-season contests for the first time in his seven NFL campaigns. The cornerback had combined to play just 311 defensive snaps over the two previous years with the Ravens and 49ers, but due to Terrion Arnold (shoulder) missing nine contests, Ya-Sin was able to log 604 snaps on defensive in 2025. Ya-Sin is set to enter free agency in the offseason, and whether it's Detroit or elsewhere, he proved he can still be a starting option for a team moving forward next season.

  • Lions' Rock Ya-Sin: Cleared of injury for Week 9

Ya-Sin (lower body) was not listed on Wednesday's estimated practice report.

Ya-Sin was forced to leave the Lions' Week 7 contest against the Buccaneers due to cramps, but the 2019 second-rounder has had extra time to recover thanks to the Week 8 bye. He started in the Lions' two games prior to the bye, though his playing time on defense likely will decrease, as Terrion Arnold (shoulder) appears to be on track to play against the Vikings on Sunday.

  • Lions' Rock Ya-Sin: Dealing with cramps

Ya-Sin is questionable to return to Monday's game against Tampa Bay due to cramps, Justin Rogers of DetroitFootball.net reports.

Ya-Sin has come in and out of the game for much of the second half. He's made several postiive plays in coverage filling in for a beat-up Detroit secondary, but his night may be done early.

  • Lions' Rock Ya-Sin: Heads to Detroit

Ya-Sin signed with the Lions on Thursday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

The depth corner played in 13 games and on 54 defensive snaps for the 49ers last year, though he also saw action on 107 special-teams snaps, making three solo tackles in total. Ya-Sin has started one game over the past two seasons with the Ravens and 49ers. The 2019 second-round pick of the Colts started 38 contests across his first four seasons in the NFL, three with Indianapolis and one with Las Vegas.

  • 49ers' Rock Ya-Sin: Makes 53-man roster

Ya-Sin made the 49ers' 53-man roster Wednesday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Ya-Sin signed with the 49ers in April after playing in 14 regular-season games for the Ravens in 2023. Ya-Sin will provide valuable depth at corner behind starters Charvarius Ward and Deommodore Lenoir.

  • 49ers' Rock Ya-Sin: Headed to San Francisco

The 49ers signed Ya-Sin (knee) to a one-year deal Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

The 2019 second-round pick will suit up for his fourth team in just as many years after agreeing to terms with the 49ers. Ya-Sin missed the final game of Baltimore's 2023 campaign due to a knee injury, but he's seemingly moved past the issue. The 27-year-old cornerback appeared in 14 games for the Ravens last season, recording 13 tackles and two passes defensed.

  • Ravens' Rock Ya-Sin: Won't go Sunday

Ya-Sin (knee) will be inactive for Sunday's AFC Champhionship Game versus Kansas City.

Ya-Sin is dealing with a knee issue that left him sidelined during practice Thursday. While he logged a full session Friday, the 27-year-old ultimately will be sidelined for Sunday's playoff game. Ya-Sin has been a consistent contributor as a reserve cornerback this season while also seeing significant playing time on special teams, tallying 13 tackles over 14 appearances. However, his absence shouldn't prove overly significant for Baltimore's defense, as starting cornerback Marlon Humphrey (calf) is available to play Sunday after he missed back-to-back games.

  • Ravens' Rock Ya-Sin: On track for Sunday

Ya-Sin (knee) is expected to play in Sunday's game versus the Chiefs, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Ya-Sin logged a full practice session Friday after sitting out Thursday, so he was seemingly trending in the right direction. Still, final confirmation on his status is unlikely to come until the Ravens release their inactive list prior to game time.

  • Ravens' Rock Ya-Sin: Questionable for Sunday

Ya-Sin (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs.

The veteran cornerback could be trending towards playing in Sunday's AFC Championship Game, as he's gone from logging a DNP on Thursday to a full workload Friday. If Ya-Sin is unable to suit up this weekend, Arthur Maulet and Ronald Darby could see even more work than usual in the Ravens' secondary.
