Draft Scouting Report

Pro Comparison: Yahya Black
Summary

Darrell Jackson began his career at Maryland before transferring to Miami (FL) and then Florida State for the past three seasons. He’s been an imposing presence since Day 1 in college, but the production has never fully matched the traits. Still, his outlier size is highly coveted at the next level. Jackson projects best in a two-gapping scheme looking for an early-down presence.

About
  • 2025: All-ACC Honorable Mention
  • 2023-25: 25 consecutive starts to end career
Strengths
  • Exceptionally large human; 7-foot-2 wingspan, 35-inch arms, 11-inch hands.
  • Easily two-gaps on downhill run concepts.
  • Can generate movement when he gets his weight into a bull rush.
Weaknesses
  • Pad level rises too quickly after the snap.
  • Easily cut off on wide runs; lacks reactive quickness in his feet.
  • Stiff working around the edges of offensive linemen.
