  • Titans' Jackson Slater: Heading to IR

The Titans placed Slater (foot) on their injured reserve list Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

Slater sustained a serious foot injury during Sunday's game against the Giants, and his immediate backup, Fernando Carmona (ankle), was also hurt badly when he stepped into Slater's place. Both will have to miss at least Tennessee's next four games, potentially leaving free-agent acquisition Atonio Mafi or rookie sixth-rounder Pat Coogan as starting options at right guard.

  • Titans' Jackson Slater: Suffered significant injury

Slater suffered a significant foot injury during Tennessee's loss to the Giants on Sunday, Easton Freeze of AtoZSports.com reports.

Slater managed to finish the game but will now seemingly be forced to miss extended time. With starting right guard Fernando Carmona (foot) also sustaining an injury during Sunday's loss, the Titans could find themselves short-handed along the interior of the offensive line, as Peter Skoronski and Atonio Mafi are currently the only healthy guards on the active roster.

  • Titans' Jackson Slater: Guard depth in Tennessee

The Titans selected Slater in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 167th overall.

The Titans have gotten some pass catchers to pair with Cam Ward, and now they get some protection for their first overall pick. Slater comes to the NFL from Sacramento State with 42 starts at left guard under his belt. He's well-built at 6-foot-3 and 311 with good athleticism for a guard. Peter Skoronski and Kevin Zeitler comprise the Titans' starting guard pairing, so Slater will likely spend his rookie season developing as a reserve.
