Chase Garbers: Cut by Las Vegas
The Raiders waived Garbers on Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Garbers played sparingly in the preseason, completing 8-of-11 passes for 57 yards and one touchdown in two games. He lost out on the backup competition to veteran Brian Hoyer and Aidan O'Connell. He'll look for opportunities elsewhere once he clears waivers.

Raiders' Chase Garbers: Re-signed by Las Vegas
The Raiders signed Garbers on Tuesday.
Garbers, an undrafted free agent out of California, spent most of last season on the Raiders practice squad and was elevated to the active roster late in his rookie season when Jarrett Stidham replaced Derek Carr as the starting quarterback. Garbers was surprisingly let go ahead of training camp, but he's back on the squad a week later and will compete with veteran Brian Hoyer and rookie Aidan O'Connell for a backup spot behind Jimmy Garoppolo.

Chase Garbers: Let go by Vegas
Garbers was waived by the Raiders on Tuesday. Levi Damien of RaidersWire reports.
Garbers spent most of last season on the team's practice squad after going undrafted out of California. However, he did find his way to the active roster after Jarrett Stidham replaced Derek Carr at quarterback late in the season. He'll now need to earn an opportunity with another franchise.

Raiders' Chase Garbers: Set to be backup
Garbers signed a contract with the Raiders on Saturday.
Garbers was a four-year player at California, racking up 6,580 passing yards and 1,174 rushing yards over the course of his collegiate career. The undrafted rookie free agent will back up Jarrett Stidham, who is replacing Derek Carr in the starting lineup for the rest of the season.

Chase Garbers: Will be backup QB Sunday
Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels said Wednesday that Jarrett Stidham will replace Derek Carr as the starting quarterback Sunday against the 49ers, leaving Garbers to operate as the primary backup, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Garbers landed on Las Vegas' practice squad after he failed to make the team's initial 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, and he's been there since. The undrafted rookie out of California passed for 6,580 yards and also rushed for 1,174 yards over his four-year college career.

Chase Garbers: Joins Raiders' practice squad
The Raiders signed Garbers to their practice squad Wednesday.
Garbers failed to land a spot on the Raiders' 53-man roster, but he made enough of an impact to earn a role on the team's practice squad. The 23-year-old will be available if Las Vegas needs additional depth at quarterback at some point in 2022.
