Burns (undisclosed) was released by the Falcons on Friday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Burns will hit free agency after spending the 2024 campaign on Atlanta's reserve-PUP list with an undisclosed injury. The fullback has yet to make his NFL debut after wrapping up his college career with UConn in 2022.

The Falcons waived Burns on Monday after he failed a physical, but now he's back with the team since no other club claimed him during the last waiver period. Until he's healthy enough to play again, Carlos Washington could see increased reps at practice.

Robert Burns: Parts ways with Atlanta
The Falcons waived Burns (undisclosed) from their active/PUP list with a failed physical designation Monday, Marc Raimondi of ESPN reports.
Atlanta made two free-agent additions Monday, and it cut Burns along with wide receiver Austin Mack to make room for them. Burns will have to get back into playing shape before he'll have another chance at making an NFL roster.

Burns, an undrafted free agent, is battling Blasingame, who is a four-year veteran and key part of the Bears' blocking scheme. With Blasingame having a combination of experience and a good training camp, the veteran seems to have a firm lead on the job. However, there is a good chance that Burns sticks with the team as a member of the practice squad.
