Thomas spent all of 2023 on the Vikings' practice squad, and he will reprise that role for the upcoming season. He logged three catches (on five targets) for 24 yards in Minnesota's preseason opener against Las Vegas on Aug. 10, but he missed the final two exhibition contests due to a concussion he sustained during practice.

Thomas' preseason came to an end after he suffered a concussion in Minnesota's exhibition finale. He has since presumably cleared the league's protocols, as he was waived by the team and subsequently picked back up by their practice squad. The 25-year-old North Carolina State product will now look to make an impression at practice.

Thomas exited Minnesota's preseason finale against the Cardinals with a concussion, and it is unclear if he has cleared the league's protocols yet. Regardless, the undrafted free agent was also assumed to be on the outside looking in when it came to making the 53-man roster. Still, it remains to be seen if he will receive an offer to land on the Vikings' practice squad.

Thomas took a big hit on a muffed punt return in the second quarter, though it's unclear exactly what injury he could be dealing with. The undrafted rookie out of NC State did not record a catch before exiting Saturday's contest, and he is likely competing for a spot on Minnesota's practice squad as a deep reserve option at wideout and/or punt returner.
