Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Falls down depth chart in 2025
Tolbert caught 18 of 34 targets for 203 yards and a touchdown over 13 games in 2025.
After a career-best campaign in 2024, Tolbert headed into the season third on the depth chart at wide receiver for the Cowboys behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. The 2022 third-round pick fell out of favor after the first month of the season, however, and he was passed in the pecking order for snaps and targets by Ryan Flournoy. Tolbert is a free agent this offseason, and even with Pickens not guaranteed to return, it seems unlikely he'll be re-signed by Dallas.

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Four receptions in Christmas win
Tolbert caught four of eight targets for 31 yards in the Cowboys' 30-23 win over the Commanders on Christmas Day.
With Ryan Flournoy (knee) inactive and tight end Jake Ferguson (calf) leaving the game early, Tolbert wound up seeing a season high in targets and tying his season high in receptions, although he didn't do much with the volume. The fourth-year wideout has managed an 18-203-1 line on 33 targets for the year, and with his rookie contract set to expire, he could be set to play his final game with Dallas in Week 18 against the Giants.

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Active on Christmas Day
Tolbert is not among Dallas' inactives for Thursday's Week 17 game against the Commanders, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.
Tolbert was a healthy scratch each of the previous three weeks, but he'll be available Christmas Day. His opportunity comes as a result of Ryan Flournoy missing the contest due to a knee injury. Tolbert may still have a hard time getting on the field often, as CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, KaVontae Turpin and perhaps Jonathan Mingo are all above him in the WR pecking order.

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Healthy scratch Week 16
Tolbert (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Joe Hoyt of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Tolbert will be a healthy inactive for the fourth time in five games as the Cowboys go with five wide receivers on Sunday's active roster in CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin and Jonathan Mingo. Tolbert's next chance to play is Christmas Day against the Commanders, though he's unlikely to play in that contest unless there is an injury to the wide receiver corps that opens up a spot on the active roster.

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Won't play Week 15
Tolbert (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
It's the third time in four games that Tolbert will be a healthy scratch. Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin and Jonathan Mingo will be the top depth options for the Cowboys behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens for Sunday night's game. Tolbert's next opportunity to play is Week 16 against the Chargers on Sunday, Dec. 21.

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Healthy scratch in Week 14
Tolbert (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday night's contest against Detroit.
Tolbert is a healthy scratch for the second time in three weeks, heading to the bench in favor of Jonathan Mingo in Week 14. Tolbert played 18 snaps on offense in the team's win over the Chiefs on Thanksgiving, his highest total since Week 7, but he failed to garner a target.

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Active for Thursday's game
Tolbert is active for Thursday's game against the Chiefs, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Tolbert was a surprising healthy scratch versus the Eagles in Week 12, but he'll suit up versus Kansas City on Thanksgiving Day. He essentially remains off the fantasy radar, though, given he's logged less than 20 percent of offensive snaps in each of the last three games. Jonathan Mingo (coach's decision) is inactive Thursday with Tolbert taking the field.

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Back in Week 13 WR mix
Tolbert is officially listed as active for Thursday's game against the Chiefs.
Tolbert was a healthy scratch for this past Sunday's 24-21 win over the Eagles, but he'll rejoin the Cowboys' WR mix in Week 13. In the process, he'll be a candidate, along with Ryan Flournoy and KaVontae Turpin, for snaps/targets that don't go to the team's clear-cut top options at the position, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Surprise inactive Sunday
Tolbert (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 12 matchup against the Eagles.
Tolbert's profile in the offense had been steadily trending down coming into Sunday, as he'd played fewer than 20 percent of the offensive snaps in three straight games. His downturn has now culminated in his first healthy scratch since his 2022 rookie campaign, per

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Plays limited snaps in Monday's win
Tolbert played 12 of the Cowboys' 67 snaps on offense and failed to haul in his lone target in Monday's 33-16 win over the Raiders.
Tolbert's role on offense has continued to dissipate; he's now played fewer than 20 percent of Dallas' snaps in three straight games. His 18 percent share Monday placed him fifth among Cowboys receivers, trailing CeeDee Lamb (73), George Pickens (67), Ryan Flournoy (43) and KaVontae Turpin (34).

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Not targeted in loss
Tolbert failed to record a single target in Monday's 27-17 loss to the Cardinals.
Tolbert was a complete nonfactor in Monday's loss to Arizona. The fourth-year wideout played just seven of the Cowboys' 67 offensive snaps in the contest, the least of any wide receiver who saw the field and his lowest snap total of the season. Tolbert has had a minimal role in the Cowboys offense, as he is buried on the depth chart and has seen just 24 targets through nine games. The 26-year-old should remain far off the fantasy radar as the Cowboys head into their Week 10 bye before a matchup against the Raiders in Week 11.

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: Hauls in late TD in Denver
Tolbert caught both his targets for 47 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-24 loss to the Broncos.
The TD came late in the game when the outcome was already decided and the Cowboys had backup QB Joe Milton under center, but it was an impressive play nonetheless, as Tolbert ran under a perfectly placed deep ball from Milton for a 35-yard score. It was Tolbert's first touchdown of the season, and it came while he saw a season-low 14 snaps on offense, less than Ryan Flournoy (34) and KaVontae Turpin (30). Dallas appears content to have a revolving door in their WR3 spot depending on the matchup, but none of the team's depth options will see enough targets to have much fantasy value as long as CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens are healthy.

Cowboys' Jalen Tolbert: One reception in Week 7 rout
Tolbert caught one of two targets for 16 yards in Sunday's 44-22 win over the Commanders.
With CeeDee Lamb back from his ankle injury, Tolbert retained his No. 3 role on the wide receiver depth chart, playing 49 percent of the offensive snaps (33 of 67) for the Cowboys while KaVontae Turpin saw 30 percent (20 snaps) and Ryan Flournoy dropped to 28 percent (19). Those three players combined for just a 2-33-0 line on three targets, however, as Dak Prescott's attention was mainly on Lamb, George Pickens and tight end Jake Ferguson. As long as the team's top two WRs are healthy, Tolbert's fantasy value will be minimal at best.
