Draft Scouting Report
Zane Durant is a high-energy defensive tackle who relies on his natural athleticism and low center of gravity to disrupt plays. While he is undersized for the interior, he compensates with a nonstop motor and the lateral quickness to chase down ball carriers. He is most effective when allowed to use his speed in space or on stunts, consistently battling bigger blockers through leverage and effort.
- 2025: 25 tackles, 4.5 TFL and 4.0 sacks (12 starts)
- Father played football at Florida A&M
- Exceptional lateral quickness and explosive first-step quickness off the snap.
- Plays with a nonstop motor and high-energy pursuit skills.
- Natural leverage and low pad level to move bigger linemen.
- Lacks the elite play strength to win power-on-power matchups.
- Can be overwhelmed and moved by interior double teams.
- Limited pass-rush repertoire beyond the bull rush when stymied.
- 40-yard dash: 4.75 seconds
- Vertical jump: 33.5 inches
- Broad jump: 9 feet, 4 inches

Bills' Zane Durant: Grabbed by Buffalo
The Bills selected Durant in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 181st overall.
Durant (6-foot-1, 290 pounds) is perhaps undersized as a defensive tackle, but he started the final three seasons of his four years at Penn State and impressed at the NFL Combine, with his 4.75-second 40-yard dash representing the fastest time at the position. As a rookie, he figures to compete for a rotational depth role along Buffalo's defensive front.
