Draft Scouting Report
Caleb Douglas is a tall, long-striding perimeter receiver who revitalized his career at Texas Tech after overcoming a significant leg injury at Florida. He excels at finding soft spots in zone coverage and uses his height effectively to win high-point battles in the middle of the field. While he lacks elite suddenness and has dealt with inconsistent hands, his combination of size and vertical stretching ability makes him a functional developmental target.
- 2025: Led team with 846 receiving yards
- 2025: Second-team All-Big 12
- Effective high-point target who can snatch the ball in traffic.
- Strong diagnostic skills for finding openings in zone coverage.
- Willing and capable run blocker with good technical engagement.
- Inconsistent hands with a high drop rate in the 2025 season.
- Lacks explosive twitch and needs build-up time to reach top speed.
- Route running can be rounded rather than sudden or precise.
- 40-yard dash: 4.39 seconds
- Vertical jump: 31.5 inches
- Broad jump: 10 feet, 6 inches

Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Dealing with minor injury
Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley said Thursday that Douglas "tweaked something" during Wednesday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Hafley doesn't expect the injury to be a long-term concern. Taken with the 75th overall pick this year, Douglas joins a WR room that's widely viewed as the weakest in the league. He'll thus have a chance to compete for immediate playing time if he's back to full strength before training camp. With 4.39 speed, at 6-foot-4, 206 pounds, Douglas could have some value to Miami's offense even if he's just running clear-out routes.

Dolphins' Caleb Douglas: Picked by Dolphins
The Dolphins selected Douglas in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 75th overall.
Douglas (6-foot-4, 206 pounds) was a decent enough player at Texas Tech, where he went over 800 yards each of the last two years, but he wasn't productive in his two years at Florida before that, and he never really broke out the way an athlete like him should. Douglas' 4.39 speed on his big frame should have made him a dominant collegiate receiver, but instead he was just a solid one. This pick would have been an easier sell in the fifth round instead of the third.
