Bears' Roschon Johnson: Practices in full
Johnson (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's walk-through practice.
Though Wednesday's practice report is merely an estimate, his full listing is nonetheless a good sign that he's made significant progress through the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. If Johnson can gain clearance from an independent neurologist ahead of Sunday's game against the Lions, he will be in position to reclaim his backup role behind D'Andre Swift.

Bears' Roschon Johnson: Out once again
Johnson (concussion) has been ruled out and will not play Monday against the Vikings.
Johnson has now missed the past two contests due to a concussion suffered during the Thanksgiving game against the Lions. With D'Andre Swift (groin) once again questionable for the contest, Travis Homer and Darrynton Evans could see additional looks.

Bears' Roschon Johnson: DNP again Friday
Johnson (concussion) remained sidelined for Friday's practice.
Johnson was concussed on Thanksgiving Day against the Lions in Week 13 and missed last week's loss to the 49ers. If Johnson is unable to gain clearance for Monday night's game against the Vikings, Travis Homer (head) would be next up at running back. It's worth mentioning that D'Andre Swift (groin) also missed practice Thursday and Friday. Darrynton Evans and Royce Freeman are on Chicago's practice squad.

Bears' Roschon Johnson: Misses Thursday's walkthrough
Johnson (concussion) was a non-participant at Thursday's walkthrough.
Johnson has been a listed DNP since sustaining a concussion during a Thanksgiving day loss at Detroit, sitting out Week 14 at San Francisco so far. With no activity to speak of yet, he clearly hasn't made much progress through the protocol for head injuries. Meanwhile, fellow RB D'Andre Swift (groin) also was a non-participant Thursday, and Travis Homer (head) was listed as full. Consequently, the state of the Bears backfield remains in flux ahead of Monday's game in Minnesota.

Bears' Roschon Johnson: Ruled out for Week 14
Johnson (concussion) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Johnson remains in the concussion protocol and hasn't yet practiced in any capacity. His next chance to suit up will come Week 15 against the Vikings, but Johnson will need to gain full clearance from the concussion protocol in order to do so. With Johnson sidelined and D'Andre Swift (quadriceps) listed as questionable for Sunday's road matchup, Travis Homer and practice-squad member Darrynton Evans could be in line to handle key backfield roles for Chicago.

Bears' Roschon Johnson: Still sidelined for practice
Johnson (concussion) didn't practice Thursday.
Both Johnson and D'Andre Swift (quadricep) were spectators for the second practice in a row, leaving the statuses of both of the team's top two running backs in question as Sunday's game at San Francisco approaches. If Johnson can't clear concussion protocol before the weekend and if Swift is forced to miss his first game of the season, the Bears would likely turn to Travis Homer and practice-squad member Darrynton Evans to take on most of the reps out of the backfield.

Bears' Roschon Johnson: Listed as non-participant
Johnson (concussion) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Johnson was forced out of last Thursday's loss to the Lions due to the concussion, and he didn't make enough progress through the five-step protocol to resume on-field work as the Bears kicked off Week 14 prep. With D'Andre Swift (quadricep) also sitting out practice Wednesday, special-teams ace Travis Homer took on extra reps out of the backfield during the session, and he could handle a key role on offense during Sunday's game against the 49ers if neither Swift nor Johnson are available. Darrynton Evans will also be a candidate for elevation from the practice squad to burnish the Bears' depth in the backfield.

Johnson won't return to Thursday's game in Detroit due to a concussion.
Late in the first half, Johnson was checked for a head injury, which now has been confirmed. He'll finish Week 13 action without a touch after recording a touchdown in back-to-back outings prior to Thursday's contest.

Bears' Roschon Johnson: Getting concussion check
Johnson is under evaluation for a head injury during Thursday's game at Detroit.
To add insult to injury in a first half in which the Bears went three and out on each of their first three possessions, their No. 2 RB may soon enter the concussion protocol. Johnson didn't have a touch prior to exiting in the second quarter.

Bears' Roschon Johnson: Scores another touchdown
Johnson rushed twice for two yards and a touchdown, and he caught a 10-yard pass in the Bears' 30-27 overtime loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
Johnson had a season-high 10 carries for 33 yards last week, but his workload reverted to the 1-to-3 carry level the running back had in Weeks 8-10. With an unpredictable weekly workload, the veteran is largely a TD-dependent fantasy option. On the season, Johnson has scored six rushing touchdowns.
