Chiefs' Jared Wiley: Minimal action in 2025
Wiley finished the 2025 regular season with one reception for four yards in five games.
Wiley struggled to see the field for the Chiefs in 2025, as Travis Kelce, Noah Gray and Robert Tonyan were all ahead on the depth chart. Wiley played just 52 total snaps (28 offensive and 24 on special teams) as the No.4 tight end. The 25-year-old has two more seasons under contract with Kansas City heading into 2026.

Chiefs' Jared Wiley: No work on offense in Week 14
Wiley played all three of his snaps on special teams in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Texans.
Wiley was one of four active tight ends for Kansas City in Week 14, but the team didn't have any snaps available on offense for him behind Travis Kelce, Noah Gray and Robert Tonyan. The second-year player suited up for just the second time all season after recording a four-yard reception over nine snaps on offense a week earlier in the Chiefs' Thanksgiving Day loss to the Cowboys.

Chiefs' Jared Wiley: Sitting out Week 1
Wiley (coach's decision) is inactive for Friday's game against the Chargers, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Wiley appeared in seven regular-season games for the Chiefs as a rookie in 2024, though he saw only 97 total snaps. He slipped behind Robert Tonyan on the depth chart this offseason and will begin 2025 on the inactive list.

Chiefs' Jared Wiley: One catch in preseason opener
Wiley (undisclosed) brought in his only target for two yards in the Chiefs' 20-17 preseason loss to the Cardinals on Saturday night.
Wiley had missed practice last Saturday with an undisclosed injury, but the 2024 fourth-round pick was able to participate in Saturday's contest and make a minimal impact. Wiley, who had only one catch over seven regular-season appearances during his rookie campaign, may have a difficult time beating out veteran Robert Tonyan for the third spot on the depth chart, but the former is likely to get a prolonged look over the Chiefs' last two preseason contests.

Chiefs' Jared Wiley: Sits out practice
Wiley (undisclosed) didn't participate in Kansas City's practice Saturday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Wiley had been recovering from a torn ACL suffered in practice last November, but it's unclear if his absence is related to that or another injury. Once healthy, the 2024 fourth-round pick is expected to serve as the team's No. 3 tight end behind Travis Kelce and Noah Gray during the upcoming campaign.

Chiefs' Jared Wiley: Past knee injury
Wiley (knee) has participated in training camp practices this week, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Wiley missed the second half of the 2024 season after tearing his ACL in November. The 2024 fourth-rounder participated in positional drills during minicamp in June, and he has progressed enough in his recovery to increase his workload in training camp. Wiley is battling against Noah Gray and Robert Tonyan for backup tight end duties behind Travis Kelce.

Chiefs' Jared Wiley: Working with knee brace
Wiley (ACL) is participating in positional drills at mandatory minicamp Tuesday with a brace on his right knee, Sports Radio 810 WHB reports.
Head coach Andy Reid said in April that Wiley, who tore his ACL last November, is doing well in his recovery. It's encouraging that he's already taking part in individual drills, but the 2024 fourth-round pick may not be fully cleared for training camp or Week 1. Noah Gray remains positioned as the No. 2 tight end behind Travis Kelce for Kansas City, so once fully recovered Wiley will likely find himself competing with Robert Tonyan for the No. 3 spot.
