  • Ravens' Trenton Simpson: Season high in tackles Sunday

Simpson recorded nine total tackles (seven solo), including 1.0 sacks and an additional tackle for loss, while also defending one pass in Sunday's 41-10 win over the Broncos.

The second-year linebacker from Clemson has continued to improve in his first season as a starter, with the best game of his career coming in Week 9. Simpson played 100.0 percent of Baltimore's defensive snaps for just the second time this season and was all over the field, recording one of five sacks on Bo Nix and finishing as team's second-leading tackler. Expect Simpson to continue starting alongside Roquan Smith as part of the Ravens' top inside-linebacker duo ahead of Thursday night's matchup against the Bengals.

  • Ravens' Trenton Simpson: Brings pressure in Week 1 loss

Simpson tallied five tackles (two solo), a half-sack and one pass defensed during Thursday's 27-20 loss to the Chiefs.

Simpson played 70 percent of Baltimore's defensive snaps Week 1, which is a larger workload than he handled at any point in his rookie season last year. The 2023 third-round pick is worth monitoring in all IDP formats considering the value that Baltimore's starting inside linebacker position has proven capable of providing. Simpson will look to take advantage of a plus matchup against the Ravens in Week 2.

  • Ravens' Trenton Simpson: In line for major role

Simpson is expected to start next to Roquan Smith at inside linebacker for the Ravens this season, Giana Han of The Baltimore Banner reports.

Simpson only played 46 snaps on defense during his rookie campaign in 2023, but he did manage to record a sack and recover a fumble while doing so. The departure of Patrick Queen to the Steelers left a hole next to Smith at linebacker, and the Clemson product appears to be the leading candidate to fill it. With expectations of earning the role, the second-year pro has been studying tape of Queen while also forming a tighter bond with Smith. "I've definitely seen Trent take that jump this year. He's flying around, man," head coach John Harbaugh said. "He's running. He's making plays. He's confident. He's a quick learner."

  • Ravens' Trenton Simpson: Missing another week

Simpson (concussion) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.

The 22-year-old linebacker was able to log a limited practice session Wednesday, but he recorded a DNP both Thursday and Friday, so it's no surprise that he'll be inactive Sunday. Simpson has appeared in 10 games for Baltimore thus far, recording three total tackles and primarily playing on special teams.

  • Ravens' Trenton Simpson: Ruled out for Thursday

Simpson (concussion) is officially out for Thursday's Week 11 game versus the Bengals.

Simpson was hurt while working on kickoff coverage during Sunday's loss to Cleveland, and he remains in the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. His absence Thursday will be most felt on special teams, as he's played just one defensive snap over three games since Week 7. Simpson's next chance to suit up will come Sunday, Nov. 26 against the Chargers.

Simpson (concussion) remained sidelined for Tuesday's practice.
