  • Seahawks' Tory Horton: Out for spring workouts

Head coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday that Horton (shin/groin) "got fixed up" and won't be available for the start of the Seahawks' offseason program in the spring, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Macdonald's comments would seem to imply that Horton had surgery to address the lower-body injuries that kept him sidelined from Week 10 through the end of the Seahawks' postseason run. Horton still appears on track to be ready to go for the start of training camp in late July, but he may not fully participate in OTAs or minicamp. Before getting hurt, the 2025 fifth-round pick had produced a 13-161-5 receiving line on 23 targets and recorded a 95-yard punt-return touchdown over his eight appearances as a rookie.

  • Seahawks' Tory Horton: Unlikely to return this season

Coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that the Seahawks "are planning on not having" Horton (shin) for the postseason, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Upon his placement on injured reserve Nov. 22, Horton was required to sit out through at least Week 16, but with Week 18 here and Macdonald saying otherwise, it appears his bid to return isn't a possibility due to a shin injury that "just takes a long time to heal." Prior to landing on IR, Horton, a fifth-round rookie, flashed at times en route to a 13-161-5 line on 23 targets in eight regular-season appearances.

  • Seahawks' Tory Horton: Uncertain to return this season

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said "we'll see" when asked Monday whether Horton (shin/groin) will return from IR in 2025, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Horton technically is eligible to return to practice this week, but Macdonald said the rookie wideout has still "got some hurdles he's got to get over." Macdonald added, "If he gets over them, we can get him back," an indication that if Horton is able to get back on the field this year, it may not happen until the end of the regular season or playoffs. If Horton returns at some point, he'll stand to contribute behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp and Rashid Shaheed.

  • Seahawks' Tory Horton: Likely to miss time beyond minimum

Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said Friday that Horton (shin) recently underwent tests that should shine some light on his timeline to return, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.

Horton is eligible to return from injured reserve for Week 16, but Macdonald's comments sounded an awful lot like the coach-speak version of saying the rookie won't be ready soon. "It's still a process right now," said Macdonald. "We got some tests going on, not as we speak, but in the last day or two, and that'll be indicative of how fast we can accelerate everything."
