Marte was removed from Sunday's game against the Rays after he appeared to aggravate his left ankle sprain during a pinch-hit appearance, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.
The 30-year-old returned to the lineup Saturday as the designated hitter after he sat out the previous three games due to an ankle sprain, but he quickly aggravated the injury after coming off the bench late in Sunday's contest. The severity of the injury this time around is unclear, but Marte needed to be helped off the field and could require a trip to the injured list.
