Taveras isn't in Texas' lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.
The switch-hitting Taveras owns a .531 OPS against southpaws this season, so he'll ride the pine as the Rangers prepare to face left-hander Brady Basso. Sandro Fabian, Wyatt Langford and Adolis Garcia will start across the outfield while Taveras rests.
