Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Leaves Friday after getting hit on wrist by pitch

Bogaerts left Friday's game after being hit on the right wrist by a fastball from Luke Gregerson in the ninth inning, WEEI's Rob Bradford reports.

This could be a damaging blow for the Red Sox and for Bogaerts' fantasy owners. He remained on the ground after getting hit while the team's trainer and manager checked on him, and he was then escorted off the field. Stay tuned for word of the official diagnosis. Brock Holt and Josh Rutledge are the only other players capable of playing shortstop on the 25-man roster.
