Steer isn't starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Steer is resting for Saturday's matinee after he hit .250 with a double, four runs, an RBI, three walks and five strikeouts over the last eight games. Matt Reynolds will start at first base and bat eighth.
