Steer broke open a close game in the fifth inning by taking Will Warren deep to give the Reds a 6-1 lead. It was the 12th home run of the season for Steer, who has hit a rough patch at the plate this month. He's batted just .067 (3-for-45) over the last 14 contests. There is a silver lining, however, as all three hits have left the park, and Steer's knocked in eight runs during the slump.

Steer capped off Cincinnati's four-run first inning by taking Kodai Senga deep for a solo shot, his 11th homer of the season. The 27-year-old has been stuck in a deep slump lately, going just 2-for-32 over his last 11 games with both hits leaving the yard. Despite the recent struggles, Steer has still provided solid production this season, batting .249 with a .770 OPS, 12 doubles, 28 RBI, 42 runs scored and three stolen bases across 275 plate appearances.

Both of Steer's homers came against lefties, as he took starter Noah Cameron deep in the fifth inning before tagging reliever Matt Strahm for a solo blast in the eighth. It was Steer's first multi-homer game of the season and snapped an 18-game homer drought. Since the beginning May, Steer is hitting .312 with four home runs, 13 RBI, 24 runs scored and an .848 OPS. For the season, Steer is slashing .277/.351/.461 with nine home runs, 23 RBI, 37 runs scored, three stolen bases and a 21:48 BB:K across 231 plate appearances.

Steer thought he hit a game-tying, two-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning but had to settle for an RBI double after the original call was overturned due to fan interference.
