  • McCutchen went 1-for-2 with a three-run homer and a pair of walks in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Marlins. McCutchen broke the game open in the fifth inning, launching a three-run homer off Adam Oller to extend Pittsburgh's lead to 6-1. It's the 20th homer of the season for McCutchen -- the 10th time in his 16-year MLB career that he's reached that mark. Since returning Aug. 30 from a two-week IL stint, the 37-year-old McCutchen's gone 9-for-29 with four home runs and a 1.157 OPS. He's slashing .241/.338/.432 with 50 RBI, 64 runs scored and three steals in 470 plate appearances on the season.

  • McCutchen went 2-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday against the Nationals. McCutchen's third-inning blast was his 19th of the season, placing him just one shy of reaching the 20-homer milestone for the second time since 2018. The 37-year-old veteran has been battling a knee issue but has been productive when in the lineup, batting 17-for-53 (.321) with six home runs and 17 RBI over 15 games since the start of August.
