Teheran opted out of his minor-league contract with the Orioles on Sunday and will become a free agent, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports. Teheran will be seeking out another organization after his second stint of 2024 with the Orioles ended without him receiving a look in the majors. After linking back up with the Orioles on a minor-league deal earlier this month, Teheran proceeded to turn in a 9.18 ERA and 2.04 WHIP across 16.2 innings over his four starts with Triple-A Norfolk. Teheran previously spent time with the Cubs and Mets earlier this season.

Teheran agreed to a minor-league contract with the Orioles on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. The veteran right-hander opted out of his minor-league deal with the Cubs over the weekend and didn't take long to latch on with a new team. Teheran has just one appearance in the big leagues this season and has struggled to an 8.82 ERA over eight starts at the Triple-A level. The Orioles are in dire need of rotation depth due to Tyler Wells (elbow) and John Means (elbow) both recently being ruled out for the season.

Teheran and the Cubs agreed on a minor-league contract Sunday, Jesse Rogers of ESPN.com reports. After being designated for assignment by the Mets on April 9, Teheran elected free agency, and he has now found a new home with Chicago. The right-hander made one start with New York before he was let go, surrendering four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out three against Atlanta on Monday. The 33-year-old will now begin with Triple-A Iowa, but he'll likely earn a shot with the major-league roster relatively soon.

Teheran elected to become a free agent Thursday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Teheran cleared waivers after being DFA'd by the Mets on Tuesday and exercised his right to refuse an outright assignment. The 33-year-old right-hander gave up four earned runs in 2.2 innings during his season debut against Atlanta on Monday, and he'll now look for an opportunity with another organization in need of rotation depth.

The Mets designated Teheran for assignment on Tuesday. The veteran right-hander started Monday against Atlanta, but he won't stick around with the Mets after giving up four runs on six hits over 2.2 innings. Teheran can reject an outright assignment to Triple-A Syracuse and become a free agent, though it's unclear if he plans to do so.
