  • Rafael Dolis: Cut by ChiSox
    By RotoWire

The White Sox released Dolis on Sept. 8. Dolis had made 63 appearances out of the Toronto bullpen between the prior two seasons, but he never earned a call-up to the majors in 2022 after joining the White Sox in April on a minor-league deal. Before he was released, Dolis logged a 5.02 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over 28.2 innings at Triple-A Charlotte on the season.

  • Dolis cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday. Dolis was unable to find a spot on another 40-man roster after he was designated for assignment Wednesday, and he'll remain in the Blue Jays organization with the Triple-A club. The right-hander earned some saves early in 2021 but saw fewer high-leverage opportunities as the season progressed. If he performs well in the minors, Dolis may be in consideration to return to Toronto's bullpen later in the season.

  • The Blue Jays designated Dolis for assignment Wednesday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports. Dolis held some fantasy relevance earlier in 2021 when he notched three saves just over a month into the season, but he's slowly tumbled down the pecking order in the Toronto bullpen. The 33-year-old right-hander hadn't recorded a hold or a save since June 1, and after giving up at least one run in each of his last three appearances in a low-leverage role, Toronto elected to move him off the 40-man roster. The Blue Jays activated reliever Tim Mayza (elbow) to fill Dolis' spot in the bullpen.

  • Dolis (2-3) earned the win in relief Sunday against the Red Sox after tossing 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and fanning two. Dolis has been pitching lights out this season and has extended his run of scoreless appearances to nine outings, posting a 13:5 K:BB across 9.2 innings in that span. The veteran right-hander hasn't been working as the Blue Jays' closer for quite a while, but he remains a dependable late-inning arm. He owns a 2.70 ERA since the beginning of July.

  • Blue Jays' Rafael Dolis: Activated from IL
    By RotoWire

The Blue Jays reinstated Dolis (finger) from the 10-day injured list Sunday. Manager Charlie Montoyo stated Saturday that Dolis was ready to return to action, and he will indeed rejoin the bullpen for Sunday's series finale against the Rays. Numbness in his pitching hand was alarming at the time, but fortunately Dolis managed to avoid a significant elbow or forearm injury. Nick Allgeyer was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move.
