Leon signed a minor-league contract with Atlanta on Tuesday. Leon was released by the Royals in late March after going 2-for-17 during spring training. He'll now offer Atlanta organizational depth behind the plate, but the chances of him contributing to the big-league club are extremely low.

The Royals released Leon on Saturday. Leon wasn't able to win a spot in Kansas City's catcher room after going just 2-for-17 while striking out seven times this spring. The 35-year-old backstop will now attempt to latch on with another organization, likely on a minor-league deal.

Leon signed a minor-league contract with the Royals on Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training. Leon has Salvador Perez and Freddy Fermin ahead of him on the depth chart, so he'll begin the 2024 season at Triple-A Omaha unless the Royals opt to carry three catchers. Slated to turn 35 in March, Leon got into 21 games with the Rangers in 2023, going just 6-for-41 at the plate.

Leon signed a minor-league contract with the Guardians on Saturday. Released by the Rangers on June 21, Leon will head to Columbus to join the Guardians' Triple-A affiliate. Leon has only played in four minor-league games this season -- going 3-for-11 with an RBI -- and will serve as an organizational depth piece going forward.

Leon was released by the Rangers on Wednesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. Having been outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock earlier this month, Leon requested his release and it was ultimately granted. The veteran catcher slashed just .146/.186/.195 in 21 games (44 plate appearances) this year for Texas prior to losing his 40-man roster spot.
