Suarez is steaming toward his fifth career 30-homer campaign -- through 10 games in September, he's slashing a stunning .500/.558/1.132 with seven long balls. With 92 RBI on the year, the 33-year-old is also closing in on his third career 100-RBI season, and first since 2019.

Suarez tallied his second four-hit game over the last two weeks and his seventh multi-hit effort in 16 games since Aug. 23. His turnaround at the dish this season has been remarkable. Through June 30, he was slashing just .196/.279/.312 with six homers and a .591 OPS. Since July 1, he leads the majors in RBI (58), is tied for first in home runs (20) and is third in runs (53). For the year, he's slashing .250/.318/.467 with 26 homers, 90 RBI, 80 runs, two steals and a 46:151 BB:K in 566 plate appearances.

The third baseman took Yusei Kikuchi deep in the sixth inning to bring Arizona to within a run of Houston at 5-4, but it was as close as the visitors would get. Suarez has gone yard five times in his last nine games, and his turnaround in the second half of the season has been nothing short of incredible. Through his first 81 games, he slashed a feeble .198/.283/.313 with just six homers and 32 RBI. Since a two-homer performance on July 3, Suarez has delivered a .303/.354/.642 slash line with 19 long balls and 56 RBI in only 58 contests.

Suarez homered in the second inning then doubled and scored during Arizona's two-run eighth that gave the team needed cushion against the Giants, who rallied late with four runs over the final three frames. The home run was Suarez's 24th and sixth in the last 12 games, during which the third baseman has a line of .378/.412/.844. He's had such an impactful bat since the All-Star break (.965 OPS), it's hard to recall when Suarez was in danger of losing playing time during a first-half slump.
