  • Judge (ribs) said Friday that his latest MRI this week showed "some" healing, but he's not yet 100 percent, and one more doctor will review the imaging before determining the next steps, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. It still sounds like Judge is multiple weeks away from a potential return to the lineup. The slugger hasn't played since May 31 due to a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side. Jasson Dominguez will continue to see regular playing time in right field for the Yankees while Judge continues his recovery. Judge will undergo at least one more MRI before he's cleared to resume baseball activities, and manager Aaron Boone reiterated Friday that he still expects the right fielder to play again this season, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports.

  • Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Thursday that Judge will get follow-up imaging on his injured rib during the All-Star break, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports. After Judge was placed on the 10-day injured list June 5 due to a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side, the Yankees relayed that the outfielder would be re-evaluated in 4-to-6 weeks. The Yankees will ultimately wait until around the six-week mark to send Judge in for re-imaging, after which he could be cleared to resume baseball activities if the MRI shows that his rib has healed as anticipated. Cashman reiterated that the Yankees fully expect Judge to return to action at some point this season.

  • Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Friday that Judge isn't expected to be ready for a re-evaluation later this week, when he'll be at the four-week mark in his recovery from a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. At the time Judge was placed on the 10-day injured list June 5, the Yankees announced that the three-time MVP was scheduled to be re-evaluated in 4-to-6 weeks. Though Judge hasn't necessarily suffered any setbacks while resting for much of June, Boone noted that the 34-year-old is moving slowly through the recovery process and may get follow-up imaging on his rib closer to the six-week mark. With that timeline in mind, Judge can be safely ruled out through the All-Star break, and an early August return from the IL could be ambitious if he isn't cleared to resume baseball activities immediately following his re-evaluation.

  • The Yankees placed Judge (ribs) on the 10-day injured list Friday. Judge was diagnosed with a stress fracture in the first rib on his right side Thursday and will be shut down for 4-6 weeks before being reevaluated. He's looking at an extended absence and could be out until after the All-Star break. In a corresponding move Friday, the Yankees recalled Spencer Jones from Triple-A, and the rookie should see regular playing time against right-handed pitching while Giancarlo Stanton (calf) and Jasson Dominguez (shoulder) remain on the injured list.

  • The Yankees announced Thursday that Judge has a stress fracture of his first rib on his right side and will be sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks before being re-evaluated, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. In other words, 4-to-6 weeks is the minimum amount of time Judge will spend in recovery before the team conducts further imaging on the ribs. He'll likely then need a period of time to ramp back up if everything comes back clean. Judge will head to the 10-day injured list, but the Yankees said the 34-year-old is expected to play again this season. It's an absolutely crushing blow to the New York lineup and for fantasy baseball. Judge hasn't played since May 31, and Jose Caballero and Max Schuemann have been seeing the playing time in right field. Spencer Jones could also be an option for promotion with Judge looking at an extended absence.
