The Reds outrighted Joe to Triple-A Louisville on Sunday. Joe had been demoted to Triple-A on Aug. 2, when the Reds cleared room on the active roster for trade-deadline pickup Miguel Andujar. Since that date, Joe had slashed a lowly .200/.344/.300 over 17 games with Louisville, which likely took him out of consideration for a September call-up. He's now lost his spot on the 40-man roster and will have the ability to elect free agency.

The Reds optioned Joe to Triple-A Louisville following Friday's game against Atlanta. The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Miguel Andujar, who was acquired by the Reds from the Athletics on Thursday. Joe has appeared in 35 games for the Reds since being traded by the Padres in early May and has slashed .213/.286/.279 with two steals and four RBI in 70 plate appearances. He should have an everyday role in the outfield in Triple-A.

The Reds activated Joe (illness) from the 10-day injured list Monday. Joe was shelved for nearly two weeks while dealing with a bout of hand, foot and mouth disease. He's ready to go after a brief rehab assignment and should resume his role as a short-side platoon bat.

Joe (illness) started at first base and went 0-for-3 for Triple-A Louisville on Friday. Joe played five innings for the Bats in what was the start of a rehab assignment. He can be activated at any time, but Joe would have a depth role if the Reds bring him back to the majors.

Joe will start in right field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Guardians. Joe has settled into a short-side platoon role for the Reds since joining the team May 10 and will enter the lineup for the series finale while the Guardians send southpaw Logan Allen to the bump. Over his first 16 games with Cincinnati, Joe is slashing .278/.308/.361 with no home runs, one stolen base, three RBI and one run.
