Andujar went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Friday's 3-1 win over Milwaukee. Andujar plated the go-ahead run and scored the insurance run in the Reds' two-run sixth inning. He's started the last two games as the designated hitter but has been limited to DH and pinch-hit duties for the last two weeks.

Andujar has been limited to designated-hitter and pinch-hitting duties by a quad injury, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports. Andujar was a stellar under-the-radar trade deadline acquisition, rolling to a .388/.444/.673 slash line in his first 16 games with Cincinnati. It was at that time the quad injury popped up. This explains his limited usage the last few weeks, but the bat remains helpful. Andujar has gone 7-for-21 (.333) with three RBI and .772 OPS over the last eight contests. He also had the game-winning knock as a pinch hitter in Wednesday's 2-1 win over the Padres.

Andujar is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Dodgers. Andujar has now been absent from the lineup for each of the last four and five of the last six contests in which the Reds have faced a right-handed pitcher. He has retained his role as the cleanup hitter against lefties during that span, but the 30-year-old looks to be settling back into the short side of a platoon.

Andujar is not in the Reds' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Monday. Andujar will be on the bench for the start of Monday's series opener while Gavin Lux serves as the designated hitter and Matt McLain starts at second base. Andujar is out of the Reds' starting nine for the third time in four games despite slashing .358/.424/.623 with three homers and 11 RBI in 18 games since being acquired by the Reds from the Athletics in late July.

Andujar is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks. Since joining the Reds on July 31 after being acquired from the Athletics, Andujar is slashing a sizzling .358/.414/.623 with three home runs in his first 17 games with his new team. He should continue to occupy a prominent spot in the heart of the lineup whenever he starts, but Andujar will hit the bench for the second time in the series while the Reds use Austin Hays at designated hitter and Gavin Lux, TJ Friedl and Noelvi Marte at the outfield spots.
