  • Gonsalves signed a minor-league contract with the Rockies on Tuesday. The Dodgers brought Gonsalves in on a minor-league deal in January, and he posted a 6.00 ERA and 1.89 WHIP through 18 innings with their Triple-A affiliate before being released Friday. He'll now look to carve out a role for himself within the Rockies organization, though a return to the majors is unlikely barring a drastic turnaround. The 29-year-old southpaw will report to Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Gonsalves signed a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training, J.P. Hoornstra of DodgersNation.com reports. Gonsalves spent the 2023 season spread across four minor-league levels in the Cubs organization, holding a 5.72 ERA over 22 appearances in his first year back from Tommy John surgery. While he had a 5.72 ERA with 22 walks in 28.1 innings, he also struck out an impressive 44. The left-hander last appeared in the majors in 2021.

  • Cubs' Stephen Gonsalves: Signs with Cubs
    By RotoWire

Gonsalves signed a minor-league deal with the Cubs in early December. Gonsalves threw just 4.1 MLB innings in 2021, giving up two runs. His previous experience at the highest level saw him struggle to a 6.57 ERA and a 16:22 K:BB over 24.2 frames for the Twins back in 2018. He wasn't particularly impressive for Triple-A Worcester in the Red Sox's system last season, either, though his 4.68 ERA did at least come with a 31.2 percent strikeout rate.

Gonsalves was optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Monday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports. Gonsalves has spent nearly the last two weeks in the big leagues, but he'll head back to the minors following the activation of both Hirokazu Sawamura (COVID-19) and Austin Davis (personal). Gonsalves allowed two runs on two hits and struck out four across 4.1 frames during his time with the Red Sox.

  • Red Sox's Stephen Gonsalves: Joins Red Sox
    By RotoWire

The Red Sox selected Gonsalves' contract from Triple-A Worcester prior to Tuesday's game against the Rays. A COVID-19 outbreak has ravaged Boston's roster, the bullpen in particular, so Gonsalves joins the team as much-needed pitching depth. The lefty went three innings as recently as Aug. 19, so he could prove useful in a mop-up role Tuesday, assuming newcomer Brad Peacock doesn't provide much length on short rest. Gonsalves' only big-league action came in 2018 when he had a 6.57 ERA in 24.2 innings with Minnesota.
