  • Brent Honeywell: Non-tendered by Dodgers
    By RotoWire

The Dodgers non-tendered Honeywell on Friday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Honeywell ended the 2024 regular season on the Dodgers' 15-day injured list due to a cracked right fingernail, but he was added to the NLCS roster against the Mets. Honeywell made three postseason appearances, allowing nine earned runs on nine hits and three walks across 8.2 innings. The 29-year-old will enter free agency and look to sign with a team in need of right-handed bullpen depth.

  • Honeywell (finger) is part of Los Angeles' roster for the NLCS versus the Mets, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports. Honeywell ended the campaign on the 15-day injured list due to a cracked fingernail, but the issue appears to have since been resolved. The right-hander played in 18 games for the Dodgers during the regular season, posting a 2.62 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB over 34.1 innings while picking up a win, a save and a hold. Honeywell will take the roster spot of lefty reliever Alex Vesia, who is sidelined due to a rib cage injury.

  • Honeywell (1-1) picked up the win over the Guardians on Saturday, allowing one hit over two scoreless innings in relief. Honeywell was one of seven pitchers used by the Dodgers on Saturday, coming in to close out the final two innings as the team cruised to a 7-2 win at home. The right-hander retired six of the seven batters he faced over those two frames en route to earning his first win of the campaign. Honeywell had allowed at least one run in three consecutive appearances coming in, and Saturday also marked the first time in his last four outings that he didn't issue a walk.

  • The Dodgers designated Honeywell for assignment Sunday. Honeywell was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers on July 13 after being DFA'd by the Pirates one day earlier. In his 10 outings with the Dodgers, Honeywell picked up one save while logging a 2.21 ERA and 1.18 WHIP across 20.1 innings. The 29-year-old could garner some interest on the waiver wire from a team in need of right-handed depth out of the bullpen. In a corresponding move, the Dodgers selected the contract of right-hander Ben Casparius from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
