  • Twins' Chris Paddack: Faces hitters Monday
    By RotoWire

Paddack (forearm) threw a live batting practice session Monday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Paddack is slated to throw again Thursday before the Twins make a decision on whether to activate him from the 15-day injured list. He's been sidelined since late July with a right forearm strain and would surely return as a reliever, if he does make it back later this week or during the postseason.

  • Paddack (forearm) threw a bullpen session Friday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Paddack noted after Friday's session that his goal is to return for the start of the postseason if the Twins are able to make it. The right-hander has been on the injured list since July 20 due to a forearm strain, and he was transferred to the 60-day IL on Sept. 1. He has a 5-3 record across 17 starts this season with a 4.99 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 79:21 K:BB across 88.1 innings.

  • Twins' Chris Paddack: Pushed to 60-day IL
    By RotoWire

The Twins transferred Paddack (forearm) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday. The transaction clears space on the 40-man roster for right-hander Diego Castillo, whose contract was selected from Triple-A St. Paul ahead of Sunday's 4-3 win over the Blue Jays. Paddack was initially placed on the IL on July 20 with a right forearm strain and wasn't counting on returning until late September in a best-case scenario, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his recovery timeline. Per MLB.com, Paddack resumed playing catch from 60 feet last week, but he still has several milestones to hit in the rehab process before his return to the active roster can be considered imminent.

  • Twins president of baseball operations Derek Falvey said Friday that Paddack (forearm) could begin a throwing program soon, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Paddack has been out since July 14 due to a right forearm strain. It's going to take him a little while to get built back up, so a return before the end of August doesn't seem likely. However, Falvey expressed optimism that Paddack would be able to rejoin the Twins' rotation before the end of the season.

  • Twins' Chris Paddack: Placed on 15-day IL
    By RotoWire

Paddack was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm strain Saturday. Paddack last pitched Sunday against the Giants, surrendering two runs (one earned) over five innings, potentially picking up a forearm injury in the process. The right-hander could be set for an extended absence as a result of the injury being to his throwing arm, but only time will tell. It's unclear who will replace Paddack in Minnesota's starting rotation, but in the meantime, outfielder Austin Martin (oblique) was activated from the 10-day injured list Saturday, filling in the hole on the major-league roster.
