  Gallegos was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Dodgers on Tuesday. Gallegos made six appearances out of the bullpen during spring training, allowing four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six batters over 6.1 innings. The right-hander appears set to begin the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City after signing a minor-league deal with Los Angeles in November.

  Gallegos signed a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Saturday that includes an invitation to spring training, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Gallegos' performance took a nosedive in 2024, as he posted a 6.53 ERA and 1.65 WHIP over 20.2 innings before the Cardinals waived him at the end of July. He finished up the regular season in the Twins' farm system and will now look to turn things around with the Dodgers, who've developed a reputation for reviving veteran pitchers' careers.

  The Twins signed Gallegos to a minor-league contract Tuesday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports. The veteran right-hander elected free agency after being designated for assignment by the Cardinals last week, and it didn't take long for him to latch on with a new organization. Gallegos struggled to a 6.53 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB over 20.2 innings before being let go by St. Louis, but he filled a high-leverage role and recorded 38 saves and 56 holds across the previous three seasons.

  Gallegos cleared waivers and elected free agency Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. The Cardinals will be on the hook for what remains of Gallegos' $5.75 million salary this season and the $500,000 buyout on his $6.5 million club option for 2025. The veteran reliever had been a staple of St. Louis' bullpen and tallied 38 saves and 56 holds over the previous three seasons, but he struggled this year with a 6.53 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 21:10 K:BB across 20.2 innings before being designated for assignment last weekend.

  The Cardinals did not have any takers for Gallegos on the trade market and he will now be placed on waivers Wednesday, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Gallegos wasn't traded prior to Tuesday's trade deadline, so the other 29 MLB teams will have an opportunity to claim him off waivers. The right-hander has produced an inflated 6.53 ERA and 1.65 WHIP with 21 strikeouts over 20.2 innings in 21 appearances with the Cardinals this season. If Gallegos goes unclaimed, he'll likely elect free agency over reporting to Triple-A Memphis.
