Krook signed a minor-league contract with the Athletics on Friday. Krook surrendered two earned runs in one inning during his lone MLB appearance with Baltimore last season. He was much more effective during his time with Triple-A Norfolk, however, posting a 3.92 ERA and 1.41 WHIP across 43.2 frames. Now with the A's, the 30-year-old southpaw will most likely fill in as organizational depth at Triple-A Las Vegas.

The Orioles outrighted Krook to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Krook was dropped from the 40-man roster earlier this week but will remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. He holds a 4.11 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 41 strikeouts over 35 innings this season at Norfolk.

Krook was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Tuesday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports. Krook has spent the majority of 2024 campaign with Triple-A Norfolk, where he'll likely remain if he clears waivers. The left-hander owns a 4.11 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 41 strikeouts over 35 innings in 34 appearances out of Norfolk's bullpen this year. With the Orioles acquiring a handful of players during Tuesday's trade deadline, Krook appears to have been one of the odd men out on the 40-man roster.

The Orioles recalled Krook from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday. Krook will supply some short-term depth for the Orioles' bullpen with Corbin Burnes hitting the paternity list. Krook hasn't appeared in an MLB game this season and owns a 3.71 ERA across 26.2 innings with Norfolk in 2024.

Krook was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday. Krook was roughed up for four runs while failing to record an out in Saturday's loss to the Brewers. The Yankees will announce a corresponding move prior to Sunday's game.
