The Padres have clinched a spot in the postseason, so starters like Tatis will receive rest over the weekend, per Bob Nightengale of USA Today. Tatis went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Thursday's loss to the Dodgers. Tatis singled in his first at-bat and later drew a walk in the eighth before going on to steal his 11th base of the campaign. He's now hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games (including one game in which he only entered as a pinch hitter), batting .333 (19-for-57) over that stretch with seven homers, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored.

The homer also extended his hitting streak to 11 games, a stretch during which he's slashing .340/.354/.809 with six homers, 11 RBI, 10 runs and two steals.

Tatis struck out in each of his first three at-bats but came up clutch in his final plate appearance, swatting a solo shot that ended up being the first of back-to-back-to-back homers by San Diego. The long ball extended Tatis' hitting streak to eight games, during which he's slashed .364/.382/.848 with five home runs, nine RBI, nine runs and two stolen bases. Tatis has either hit a homer or swiped a bag in all but one game during that span.

Tatis went 2-for-5 with a double, a steal and two runs scored in Tuesday's loss to the Astros. Tatis scored the team's first run of the game on a two-run homer from Manny Machado in the sixth. Tatis has now hit safely in seven straight games with four homers, eight RBI and eight runs scored over that span. His sixth-inning steal brought him up to double digits for the fifth straight season since he broke in to Major League Baseball. For the year, he's slashing .283/.348/.485 with 18 homers, 45 RBI, 61 runs and a 30:83 BB:K in 399 plate appearances.
