Tatis went 2-for-5 with a double, a steal and two runs scored in Tuesday's loss to the Astros. Tatis scored the team's first run of the game on a two-run homer from Manny Machado in the sixth. Tatis has now hit safely in seven straight games with four homers, eight RBI and eight runs scored over that span. His sixth-inning steal brought him up to double digits for the fifth straight season since he broke in to Major League Baseball. For the year, he's slashing .283/.348/.485 with 18 homers, 45 RBI, 61 runs and a 30:83 BB:K in 399 plate appearances.

Tatis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Giants. Tatis started the previous five games and will receive a breather after going 7-for-24 with three homers and a stolen base. David Peralta will take over in right field and bat eighth in the series finale at San Francisco.

Tatis went hitless in his first three at-bats before recording a two-out single and stealing second in the sixth inning. He also scored in the frame and added an RBI single in the eighth as San Diego blew out the Giants on the road. Tatis reached three times in the contest and tallied multiple hits for the fourth time this month. It marked his sixth game this season with three or more hits while the steal was his first since June 11 against Oakland. He's now batting .279 (12-for-43) in September with three homers, eight RBI and eight runs scored.

The star outfielder is 9-for-37 (.243) over nine games since he returned from a thigh injury. He's up to 17 long balls, 43 RBI, 56 runs scored, eight stolen bases and a .275/.345/.475 slash line through 89 contests this season.

He didn't homer in any of his first six games after returning from the injured list Sept. 2, but he's now gone deep in two straight contests. Since recovering from a stress reaction in his right femur and rejoining San Diego, Tatis is slashing .242/.242/.485 with the two long balls, five RBI, five runs and a 0:9 BB:K.
