  • Sam Haggerty: Let go by Seattle
    By RotoWire

The Mariners non-tendered Haggerty (Achilles) on Friday, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The 27-year-old played in 27 games between the Mariners and Triple-A Tacoma before he suffered a torn Achilles in May, which sidelined him for the rest of the season. It's unclear exactly how long Haggerty will be sidelined, but he'll likely be unavailable for at least the first month of the 2025 campaign.

The Mariners recalled Haggerty (Achilles) from Triple-A Tacoma and placed him on the 60-day injured list Monday. Haggerty tore his right Achilles on May 18 in just his second minor-league game since being optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on May 15. Prior to his second stint with Tacoma, Haggerty slashed .344/.417/.375 with eight runs, seven steals and five RBI over 64 at-bats.

  • Haggerty was diagnosed with a torn Achilles on Monday and will miss the rest of the 2024 season, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. He was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday. The 29-year-old was optioned to Tacoma last week and suffered the injury over the weekend in just his second game back with the affiliate. Haggerty went 1-for-15 during a brief run in the big leagues this season and will likely be sidelined for the start of the 2025 campaign.

  • The Mariners optioned Haggerty to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday. Haggerty hasn't been playing much and has done little in the opportunities he has received this season, recording one hit in 15 at-bats. Dominic Canzone (shoulder) was reinstated from the injured list and will take over Haggerty's spot on the 26-man active roster.

  • Haggerty went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a run in a win over the Athletics on Sunday, his first hit since making his season debut May 1. Haggerty had gone hitless in his first eight plate appearances of the season after a delayed debut due to a non-baseball-related medical issue. The veteran utility man has now broken through with his first knock of the season and also has a walk and stolen base on his resume, but he'll likely continue seeing only sporadic playing time while good health prevails across the Mariners' roster.
