Jones is slashing .247/.357/.366 with one home run, two steals and a 37.2 percent strikeout rate in 27 games for Single-A Visalia. Jones' contact rate is below 55 percent and his BABIP is .423, so his slash line is due for negative regression. It's troubling that Jones has only three homers in 240 career at-bats, but it's much more concerning that he appears overmatched against Single-A pitchers as a 20-year-old.

Jones (hamstring) has gone 3-for-12 with 1:4 BB:K in four games since beginning a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Aug. 1. Jones opened the season at Single-A Visalia but hasn't seen any action in the California League since April 19 after sustaining a right quadriceps strain. He was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the ACL in mid-June, only to be pulled off the assignment after four games when he strained his right hamstring. The 19-year-old is now in the midst of his second rehab assignment in the Complex League and has seemingly avoided any setbacks thus far while making his last three starts in center field. He could be activated from Visalia's 60-day injured list later this week or at some point next week.

Single-A Visalia transferred Jones (hamstring) from the 7-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday. Jones hasn't played for Visalia since April 19 due to a quadriceps strain but was cleared to begin a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on June 13. However, he lasted just four games in the ACL before succumbing to a right hamstring strain and being pulled off the assignment. The Diamondbacks have yet to announce a timeline for Jones, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 First-Year Player Draft, to return to action.

Jones (quadriceps) isn't expected to return to game action until at least the middle of July after suffering a right hamstring strain while running the bases last week in a rehab game with the Diamondbacks' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports. Jones had been on Single-A Visalia's 7-day injured list since April 22 with a right quadriceps strain, and while he didn't aggravate that particular issue while rehabbing in the ACL, the hamstring strain may be a compensation-related injury. In any case, Jones looks like he'll be out of commission at least through the All-Star break, marking the third major setback he's suffered on the health front during his young professional career. In addition to the quad and hamstring injuries, Jones tore the labrum in his left shoulder last July, just three days after he inked a contract that included an $8.19 million signing bonus.

Jones (quadriceps) began a rehab assignment Tuesday with the Diamondbacks' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate and went 0-for-3 in his first game while playing five innings in center field. Jones looks to be on the cusp of rejoining Single-A Visalia after spending the better part of two months on the shelf with a right quadriceps strain. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 First-Year Player Draft slashed .175/.283/.200 with a 30.4 percent strikeout rate in 46 plate appearances with Visalia before landing on the 7-day injured list.
