The Rockies optioned Rogers to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports. Rogers' latest stint in the majors lasted just one day, as he allowed one run over 1.2 innings in a relief appearance Sunday versus Atlanta. He's clearing out to make room on the roster for Bradley Blalock, who was called up from Double-A Hartford to start Monday's game in Arizona.

The Rockies selected Rogers' contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday. The left-hander was designated for assignment by the Rockies in mid-July but will return to the big-league roster for Sunday's series finale versus Atlanta. Rogers has a 6.75 ERA over 9.1 frames in the majors this season and should fill a low-leverage role out of the bullpen.

One day after getting optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque, Rogers now finds himself off the Rockies' 40-man roster after Colorado claimed lefty Antoine Kelly off waivers from Texas in a corresponding move. Before his demotion, Rogers had made five appearances at the big-league level this season, giving up seven earned runs on 12 hits and two walks over 9.1 innings. Rogers will likely stick around with the Rockies as bullpen depth at Albuquerque if he clears waivers.
