Misiewicz cleared waivers Thursday and was sent outright to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. He was DFA'd by the Yankees on Monday in order to make room for Jon Berti, but Misiewicz will stick with the organization after going unclaimed on waivers. The 29-year-old southpaw owns a 3.33 ERA and 1.13 WHIP across 54 innings in the minors this season.

The Yankees designated Misiewicz for assignment Monday. The transaction opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for utility man Jon Berti's (calf), who was activated from the 60-day injured list. Misiewicz made his lone appearance of the season with the Yankees back in June and had turned in a 3.47 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 30:5 K:BB in 23.1 innings over 21 appearances since returning to Triple-A.

Misiewicz made his first appearance of the season during Wednesday's loss, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out one batter in a scoreless inning. The 29-year-old will now return to Triple-A just one day after having his contract selected, though he will keep his spot on the 40-man roster. He owns a 3.23 ERA and 1.16 WHIP through 30.2 innings with the RailRiders and could be a candidate to return to New York later in the summer if the Yankees need a fresh bullpen arm.

Misiewicz spent some brief time in the big leagues with three different clubs in 2023, including the Yankees, posting a 7.36 ERA over 11 appearances between the three stops. The left-handed reliever figures to be headed to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to begin 2024.

Misiewicz was non-tendered by the Yankees on Friday. Misiewicz allowed nine earned runs in 11 major-league innings this past season between Arizona, Detroit and New York. The 29-year-old left-hander may have to accept a minor-league deal in free agency.
