Robinson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles. After filling in behind the plate for a resting Korey Lee in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Mets, Robinson will return to his usual bench role for the series opener in Baltimore. Since getting called up from Triple-A Charlotte on July 19 to replace Martin Maldonado as the White Sox's No. 2 catcher, Robinson has picked up just 12 starts while batting .152 with no extra-base hits.

Robinson went 1-for-3 against the Royals on Saturday. Robinson was recalled to the majors Friday and made his first big-league appearance since 2022 on Saturday. He'll remain the backup to Korey Lee behind the plate but should have a chance to stick in the majors after Martin Maldonado was designated for assignment.

The White Sox recalled Robinson from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday. The 29-year-old is taking over as the backup catcher behind Korey Lee after Martin Maldonado was designated for assignment. Robinson has a .407 OPS in 25 career games at the big-league level, but he has flashed a bit of power with 20 homers and a .275/.335/.428 slash line in 155 Triple-A games over the last two seasons.

The White Sox selected Robinson's contract and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday. It's a partial promotion for Robinson, as he's now on the 40-man roster but will remain with Charlotte for the time being as organizational catching depth. Robinson has put together a .234/.288/.386 slash line with six home runs in 41 games at Triple-A so far this season. Outfielder Duke Ellis was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Robinson signed a minor-league contract with the White Sox on Dec. 7. Robinson appeared in 25 games with the Reds in 2022, but he spent all of last season with Triple-A Louisville, where he slashed .290/.356/.450 with 13 homers and 74 RBI across 413 plate appearances. He gives Chicago some organizational depth behind the plate.
