  • Rivera went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double, a walk, four RBI and three runs scored in Saturday's 9-2 win over the Twins. Rivera has had to battle for playing time ever since he got to Baltimore, but he's produced with a .323/.380/.597 slash line over 26 games with the team. He doubled his homer total with the Orioles in a big game Saturday. Overall in 2024, he's slashing .240/.314/.346 with five homers, 29 RBI, 24 runs scored and two stolen bases across 300 plate appearances between the Orioles and the Marlins. With Baltimore having gotten healthier late in the regular season, Rivera may be limited to a bench role if he's included on the postseason roster.

  • Rivera is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers. Rivera had started in each of the Orioles' last nine games while slashing .276/.333/.414 with one home run and two walks during that stretch, but he'll head to the bench for the series finale. With both Jordan Westburg (hand) and Ramon Urias (ankle) picking up starts in the infield in their returns from the 10-day injured list Sunday, Rivera could be at risk of falling into a part-time role during the final week of the season.

  • Rivera will start at third base and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Giants. Rivera has produced a .754 OPS thus far in September and will be rewarded with a sixth consecutive start at third base while he remains one of the Orioles' more productive bats of late. Though top prospect Coby Mayo hasn't presented much of a threat to his playing time, Rivera could be more at risk of losing at-bats once Ramon Urias (ankle) returns from the injured list. Urias is expected to report to Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday to begin a rehab assignment.

  • Rivera went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Wednesday's extra-inning loss to Boston. Rivera put Baltimore on the board in the third inning with a solo shot to left field. He gave the team another lead with an RBI single in the 10th, but Boston emerged with the victory on a Tyler O'Neill walk-off homer in the bottom of that frame. It was a rare opportunity for Rivera to produce, as he's started just twice in the Orioles' past seven games.

  • Rivera will start at third base and bat ninth in Monday's game versus the White Sox, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. It's the second straight start for Rivera but his first against a right-hander since being claimed by the Orioles on Aug. 21. His previous three starts had come at first base, but Rivera is an option to see increased action at the hot corner after Ramon Urias (ankle) landed on the 10-day injured list over the weekend.
