The Athletics outrighted Toro to Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday after he cleared waivers. With none of MLB's other 29 teams putting in a waiver claim for Toro after he was designated for assignment Tuesday, the 27-year-old will stick around in the Oakland organization as infield depth at the Triple-A level. Toro slashed .240/.293/.350 with six home runs, four stolen bases, 26 RBI and 34 runs over 364 plate appearances with the Athletics before losing his spot on the 40-man roster.

Toro is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets. He appears to have lost hold of a regular spot at third base to rookie Darell Hernaiz.
