Skubal allowed two runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out six batters over 5.2 innings in a no-decision against St. Louis on Thursday. Skubal didn't have his best stuff Thursday, as he gave up a season-high 10 hits while logging only one 1-2-3 inning. However, the star hurler showed poise in mostly working around the constant flow of traffic, as the Cardinals were able to plate just two runs against him. Skubal extended his stretch of outings with three or fewer runs allowed to 12, and he's struck out six or more batters 11 times during that span. He has only one win through six starts as a Dodger, but Skubal has been pretty effective, logging a 3.03 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 43:8 K:BB across 35.2 innings since being traded to Los Angeles.

Skubal didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 2-1 win over the Tigers, allowing one run on four hits over six innings. He struck out seven without walking a batter. Returning to Comerica Park for the first time since Detroit traded the ace left-hander to the Dodgers, Skubal controlled his emotions and fired 56 of 83 pitches for strikes in a sharp performance, but Los Angeles didn't push across the winning run until the eighth inning. Over five August outings for his new club, Skubal sports a 3.00 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 37:7 K:BB in 30 innings with four quality starts, but only one win. He'll look for his ninth win of the year in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Cardinals.

Skubal (7-6) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Cubs, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out six. Skubal got into a groove early and struck out three of the first six batters he faced, but he gave up a solo shot to Dansby Swanson in the third inning and an RBI single to Nico Hoerner in the sixth before departing the contest. This was Skubal's fourth consecutive quality start, and despite the loss against one of the hottest teams in the National League, his performance was strong, as he tossed 51 of his 85 pitches for strikes in his first start for his new team. Skubal is expected to take the mound next week in a home series against the Royals.
