• Diamondbacks' Tommy Henry: Back with Arizona on NRI deal

  The Diamondbacks re-signed Henry (elbow) to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training Monday. Henry was non-tendered by Arizona last month, but the two sides have reunited on a minor-league pact. The left-hander missed much of 2025 due to injury and could be out for all of next season following Tommy John surgery in June. Henry holds a career 5.07 ERA over 37 appearances (32 starts) at the big-league level.

  The Diamondbacks non-tendered Henry (elbow) on Friday. Henry is likely to miss the entire 2026 season while recovering from a Tommy John procedure he underwent in June, so it comes as little surprise to see the D-backs decline to offer him a contract for the upcoming year. The 28-year-old southpaw will likely have to settle for a minor-league deal once he approaches the end of his recovery after posting an 8.12 ERA and 1.79 WHIP over 54.1 innings at Triple-A Reno in 2025.

  The Diamondbacks designated Henry (elbow) for assignment Tuesday. Henry is slated to miss most, if not all, of the 2026 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery in June. His lengthy expected absence makes it unlikely that another team will be willing to pick him up off waivers, so the D-backs will take the opportunity to remove the injured lefty from their 40-man roster while protecting four prospects from the Rule 5 Draft.

  The Diamondbacks recalled Henry (elbow) from Triple-A Reno and placed him to the 60-day injured list Sunday. According to Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, Arizona manager Torey Lovullo relayed Sunday that Henry recently underwent Tommy John surgery, which included both internal bracing and ligament repair. After injuring his elbow in mid-June, Henry went on Reno's IL, but the Diamondbacks needed to add him back to the big-league roster in order to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Henry will miss the rest of the season and will also be sidelined for at least the first half of the 2026 campaign.

• Diamondbacks' Tommy Henry: Will undergo TJ surgery

  Henry (elbow) is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports. Henry was placed on Triple-A Reno's 7-day injured list June 12 due to left elbow discomfort, and after seeking multiple opinions, Tommy John surgery was elected as the best path moving forward for the 27-year-old southpaw. Henry will miss the rest of the 2025 season, and given the procedure, he'll likely miss most -- if not all -- of 2026. Henry appeared in two major-league games for the Diamondbacks this season but spent most of the year in Triple-A, where he posted a 2-6 record in 11 starts with an 8.12 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 51:21 K:BB across 54.1 innings.
