  • The Yankees recalled Beeter from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday. Beeter will come up to replace Jake Cousins (pectoral), who landed on the 15-day injured list. The right-handed Beeter was at one point feared lost for the season due to a shoulder injury, but he was able to return to action in the minors earlier this month. He allowed just one hit over four scoreless innings after rejoining Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • Beeter (shoulder) was reinstated from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's 60-day injured list Saturday and was assigned to Double-A Somerset. Beeter proceeded to appear out of the Somerset bullpen later that day, striking out two and allowing one hit and no walks over a scoreless inning. The right-hander had turned in a 2.53 ERA over 32 innings with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before hitting the shelf in May with a right shoulder injury.

  • The Yankees optioned Beeter to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. The move corresponds with the Yankees calling up Tanner Tully. Beeter made New York's Opening Day roster as part of the bullpen, and he threw a scoreless ninth inning in Friday's win over the Astros. Beeter will get some reps in Triple-A and work towards returning to the majors.

  • Beeter has been informed that he'll be included on the Yankees' Opening Day roster, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. Luis Gil has been announced as the Yankees' fifth starter, so Beeter will begin the season in the bullpen as a long man. Beeter has yet to appear in a major-league game, having collected a 3.62 ERA and 165:75 K:BB over 131.2 innings between Double-A Somerset and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2023.

  • Beeter is a candidate to claim a spot in the Yankees' Opening Day rotation if Gerrit Cole (elbow) needs to miss time, Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media reports. Beeter has impressed in Grapefruit League play this spring, posting a 2.00 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB over nine innings across three outings, including two starts. In the right-hander's most recent appearance, he recorded four scoreless frames with four strikeouts against Philadelphia. Meanwhile, Cole has already undergone an MRI and is slated for additional testing on his pitching elbow, and manager Aaron Boone acknowledged Monday that the ace is unlikely to be ready for the start of the campaign, per Erik Boland of Newsday. Along with Beeter, fellow youngsters Will Warren and Luis Gil are candidates to fill in for Cole if he does indeed need to miss time, although Warren isn't on the 40-man roster.
