Kyle Drabek has signed a minor league deal with the San Francisco Giants and may potentially move to the infield, Andrew Bagggarly of The Mercury News reports.The intention of this signing is to try the 28-year-old veteran out in the infield. He was the 18th overall pick in the 2006 draft and was highly regarded as both a pitcher and position player. However, the organization has not ruled out a return to the mound.

Kyle Drabek was assigned to Triple-A Reno on Monday after the Arizona Diamondbacks secured outright waivers on him, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.Drabek was designated for assignment Friday, but went through waivers unclaimed by another team. He'll stick on with the Diamondbacks organization and act as organizational depth going forward, although he could find his way back to the majors if the Diamondbacks bullpen gets hit with injuries.

Kyle Drabek was designated for assignment Friday, Nick Piecoro of AZCentral.com reports.The Arizona Diamondbacks shuffled their bullpen Friday, designating Drabek and purchasing the contract of fellow reliever Matt Buschmann. Drabek will now be subject to waivers and could ultimately be kept in the organization if the Diamondbacks choose to outright him to the minors. In three big league appearances last season, Drabek worked a 5.06 ERA with three strikeouts and two walks as a member of the White Sox.

Kyle Drabek was called up from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.Zack Greinke's abbreviated outing Monday taxed the bullpen, and Drabek was needed to provide a fresh arm. Silvino Bracho was optioned and A.J. Pollock (elbow) was placed on the 60-day DL in corresponding moves. Drabek issued six walks and did not record a single strikeout in seven innings with the big club this spring.

Kyle Drabek signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday, Matt Eddy of Baseball America reports.Drabek spent the majority of the 2015 season at Triple-A, posting a 3.47 ERA in 24 starts at the level. He could serve as an option out of the bullpen in Arizona, but more likely than not he'll begin the season back in the minors, as he hasn't pitched more than six innings in a season in the big leagues since 2012.
