Mets' Marc Krauss: Gets invite to Mets' spring training
Marc Krauss signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets on Monday that includes an invitation to spring training, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.Krauss saw major league action on three different teams last season, but couldn't manage to hit enough to stay on a roster. He'll get a shot at a spot in Mets spring training, and could stand a shot with little depth at first base behind Lucas Duda. However, he'll need to prove he can swing the bat at the major league level if he wants to stick.

Tigers recall Kyle Ryan, option down Marc Krauss
The Detroit Tigers recalled LHP Kyle Ryan from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, per the Detroit Free Press. Ryan is 0-8 with a 4.86 ERA at Toledo. He was 1-2, 5.64 in a previous stint with Detroit this year. To make room, the Tigers optioned first baseman Marc Krauss to Toledo. Krauss hit .152 in 12 games with the Tigers.

Tigers recall INF Dixon Machado to replace Marc Krauss
The Detroit Tigers recalled infielder Dixon Machado from Triple-A Toledo to replace Marc Krauss, who will go on the paternity leave list, according to MLB.com. Machado was up with the Tigers in early-May but hit just .143 in seven at-bats before being sent back down to Triple-A. Krauss has been with the Tigers since July 6, after they claimed him off waivers after he was designated for assignment by the Rays.

Marc Krauss homers in first game with Tigers
Detroit Tigers first baseman Marc Krauss wasted little time making an impact with his new team Tuesday against the Mariners. Playing in his first game since being claimed off waivers, Krauss homered during a 7-6 loss. Krauss followed Nick Castellanos' two-run homer in the second inning with a solo homer off Taijuan Walker. It was his second home run this season. The homer was Krauss' only hit, as he struck out in his other three at-bats. He is batting .143 in 16 games between the Angels, Rays and Tigers.

1B Marc Krauss to join Tigers on Tuesday
Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said first baseman Marc Krauss will join the Tigers for Tuesday's game at Kansas City, reports MLB Radio Network. Krauss was recently claimed off waivers after the Rays designated him for assignment. He is expected to play a platoon role at first base while Miguel Cabrera is sidelined. Krauss is hitting .133 with one home run and six RBI in 45 at-bats this season. He will bat seventh and play first base in Tuesday's contest.

Rays call up Everett Teaford, option down C.J. Riefenhauser
The Tampa Bay Rays selected the contract of pitcher Everett Teaford from Triple-A Durham on Sunday. Teaford is 4-6 with a 5.56 ERA in 13 starts at Durham. He gave up a run in 2 1/3 innings in his previous appearance for the Rays this year. To make room, the Rays optioned pitcher C.J. Riefenhauser to Triple-A. He was 1-0 with a 9.95 ERA in six relief appearances with the Rays. The Rays also designated first baseman/outfielder Marc Krauss for assignment, opening a spot on the 40-man roster. Krauss was acquired in a trade with the Angels on June 25. He was 1 for 10 with seven strikeouts in four games with the Rays.

Rays to activate Matt Moore, option Marc Krauss
The Tampa Bay Rays are set to activate pitcher Matt Moore from the 60-day disabled list before Thursday's game against the Indians, according to MLB.com. This was expected as Moore has been slated to start this game. To make room for Moore, the Rays are will option designated hitter Marc Krauss to Triple-A Durham. Moore will make his 2015 debut after returning from Tommy John surgery.
