    Rangers' Jaye Chapman: Signs minor league deal with Rangers

    Jaye Chapman signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.The deal does not include an invite to spring training. Chapman has continued to work at the upper levels of the minors leagues in recent years after undergoing surgery on both hips (to address a genetic condition) in 2013. He's posted a 4.21 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 4.3 BB/9 and 9.7 K/9 in parts of five seasons at Triple-A.

    Rays' Jaye Chapman: Traded to Rays

    Jaye Chapman was traded to Tampa Bay on Sunday.The 29-year-old right-hander was promoted to Triple-A Colorado Springs by the Brewers earlier this year and has posted a 5-1 record with a 5.73 ERA during 22 innings of work in relief. He has not made a major league appearance since he was a member of the Cubs in 2012, but should provide organizational depth for the Tampa Bay Rays.

    Jaye Chapman was promoted to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Wednesday.The 28-year-old converted all 10 of his save opportunities with Double-A Biloxi in 11.1 innings. Chapman spent most of his time last year in the minors for Triple-A Colorado Springs before getting demoted to Biloxi toward the tail end of 2015. Throughout his time on the mound this year, Chapman has only allowed two hits while striking out 15 batters without allowing a run. By far the most impressive figure he boasts is the .056 opposing batting average, to go along with a 0.18 WHIP, proving that he deserves another chance at the next level.

    Jaye Chapman earned his fourth save of the season Monday against Double-A Pensacola.After getting moved from Triple-A Colorado Springs down to Double-A Biloxi at the latter end of last season, Chapman seems determined to earn the chance to play at a higher level again. Thus far, he's pitching lights-out, as he has yet to give up a hit or walk over five innings. Along the way, he's struck out seven batters and is consistently finding the strike zone, as 76 percent of his pitches are strikes.
