  • Justin Bour 1B | SF

Angels' Justin Bour: Heads to bench

Bour is not in the lineup Saturday against the Rangers.

Bour sits for just the second time this season. Jonathan Lucroy will rest his legs as the designated hitter, pushing Albert Pujols out to first base.

  • Rangers' Asdrubal Cabrera: Sits for first time

Cabrera will hit the bench for the first time Saturday against the Angels.

Cabrera is hitting .241 with three homers through eight games. Logan Forsythe will get the start at third base in his absence.

  • Ryan O'Hearn 1B | PIT

Royals' Ryan O'Hearn: Sits against southpaw

O'Hearn will be on the bench Saturday against the Tigers, Rustin Dodd of The Athletic reports.

O'Hearn will head to the bench against left-hander Matt Moore. Frank Schwindel will start at first base in his place.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Indians' Carlos Santana: Plays hero with walkoff shot

Santana went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 win over the Blue Jays.

His first homer of the year was a big one -- a walkoff shot with one out in the ninth inning. Santana's now hitting .417 (10-for-24) with five runs and six RBI through seven games to kick off 2019.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Hits two-run bomb

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a 5-2 victory over the Giants on Friday.

The 27-year-old only had one home run in 120 plate appearances with the Indians last season, so the fact he has two homers already is a bit surprising. Diaz did showcase some pop, hitting a pair of bombs with nine RBI in 49 at-bats during spring training, but the expectation is still that average and on-base percentage will be Diaz' best assets for fantasy owners. He is 9-for-25 (.360) with five extra-base hits, three RBI and six runs in seven games this season.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: Collects hit to begin rehab stint

Guerrero (oblique) got the start at third base and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in High-A Dunedin's season opener Thursday.

And we're off. The top prospect in baseball doesn't have a clear timetable yet for how long he'll be spending in the Florida State League before a bump up to Triple-A Buffalo, and then eventually the big-league roster, but if he avoids aggravating his oblique strain, Guerrero's stay in the minors will likely only last until he shows he has his timing down at the plate. The first date to keep an eye on could be April 12, when the Jays begin a three-game series at home against the Rays.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Back in action

Diaz (ankle) is back in the lineup Friday against the Giants.

Diaz left Tuesday's game with a minor ankle injury and sat out Wednesday, but he's back after missing just one game. He has a hit in each of his six games so far this season.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Athletics' Matt Olson: Continuing to take grounders

Olson (hand) took ground balls for the third time prior to Thursday's game, Gideon Rubin of The Associated Press reports.

Olson continues to seemingly progress smoothly through his post-surgical rehabilitation. The slugging infielder is still weeks away from returning to action, and John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports Olson remained in the Bay Area to continue his recovery while the team departed for Houston on Thursday to begin a 10-game road trip against the Astros, Orioles and Rangers.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

    Yankees' Luke Voit: Seals victory

Voit went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Thursday against the Orioles.

Voit took Miguel Castro deep in the ninth inning to seal the win for the Yankees, his second homer of the season. He's had trouble getting things going since his home run Opening Day, with this being his first extra-base hit in 18 at-bats since. However, he continues to bat third in the depleted Yankees lineup, which should provide him plenty of opportunity to drive in runs if he can get it going at the plate.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: Will begin rehab at High-A

Guerrero (oblique) will begin his rehab assignment at High-A Dunedin on Thursday before eventually reporting to Triple-A Buffalo, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports.

Guerrero has remained at extended spring training since being diagnosed March 10 with a left oblique strain and looks like he's ready to test out his health in an uncontrolled game setting after hitting no snags in the recovery process. Since Dunedin doubles as the site of the Blue Jays' spring complex, it's no surprise the organization has chosen to keep Guerrero local as he embarks on the rehab assignment. Because he missed most of the Grapefruit League schedule with the injury, Guerrero will likely stick around in the Florida State League for several games prior to moving on to Buffalo. Once back at Triple-A, baseball's top prospect may not have to wait long for his much-anticipated promotion to the big leagues. According to Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan, Guerrero will play 5-to-7 innings with Dunedin on Thursday before being reevaluated.
